To get a full idea of what a Fusion Academy would look like in Franklin, Elizabeth Mills traveled to Alpharetta, Georgia.
That’s where one of the small, specialized private schools had been open for some time, and Mills wanted an up-close and in-person look and feel of a campus and its staff and students, and just to soak up the general vibes.
She was in the interview process in the winter of 2021 to become head of school of a Fusion Academy scheduled to open in Franklin later in 2022. At the time, however, the school had no campus, no staff, not even an address. So Mills took off for the Atlanta suburb to absorb all things Fusion Academy, and what she saw she liked — she liked it very much.
